Ariton Purple Cats (Ariton, AL) fans left the game content Friday as they saw their football team nip the visiting Long Rebels (Skipperville, AL), 27-21 in a league test.

With the triumph, Ariton improves its record to 5-0 on the campaign. The Purple Cats host Slocomb (Slocomb, AL) to meet the Red Tops in a non-league challenge on Friday, September 24. The Red Tops come into the challenge with a record of 2-2. Slocomb lost 35-25 in their recent league challenge against Houston Academy (Dothan, AL)

The Rebels now sport a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they host Daleville for a non-league challenge on Friday, September 24. Long will meet a Warhawks team coming off a 55-0 league loss to Opp (Opp, AL). The Warhawks record now stands at 0-5.
