New York High School Football - Christ the King held off by St. John the Baptist
September 17, 2022: West Islip, NY 11795 In Saturday's non-league game, the St. John the Baptist Cougars (West Islip, NY) football team got by the visiting Christ the King Royals (Middle Village, NY), by a score of 21-18.
The Cougars (2-1) will now prepare for their game against St. Peter's (Staten Island, NY). The Eagles come into the Catholic AA I game with a 0-3 record. In their last game, St. Peter's was tipped by Morris Catholic (Denville, NJ), 52-27, in a non-league game.
The Royals now sport a 0-3 record. They take the field next when they host Iona Prep for a Catholic AAA game on Saturday, September 24. Christ the King will battle a Gaels team coming off a 42-35 non-league win over Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, NJ). The Gaels record now stands at 2-1.
