North Carolina High School Soccer - Piedmont knocks off Central Academy

September 18, 2023: Monroe, NC 28110

Piedmont Panthers (Monroe, NC) fans were thrilled Monday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the visiting Central Academy Cougars (Monroe, NC), 5-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Panthers face the Metrolina Christian Academy Warriors (Indian Trail, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, September 19. Piedmont will attempt to better on its 7-1 season record. The Warriors enter the challenge with a 5-7 record after their 4-1 league loss to Gaston Christian (Gastonia, NC).

The Cougars now have a 4-6 record. They take the field next when they host Forest Hills for a Rocky River 2A/3A challenge on Thursday, September 21. Central Academy will face a Yellow Jackets team coming off a 2-0 league win over West Stanly (Oakboro, NC). The Yellow Jackets record now stands at 4-6.
