September 18, 2025: Columbia, SC 29223 Cardinal Newman Cardinals (Columbia, SC) boosters left the game thrilled Thursday as they saw their volleyball squad nudge the visiting Northside Christian Academy Crusaders (Lexington, SC), 2-1 in a league test.
With the win, Cardinal Newman improves its record to 12-3 on the season. The Cardinals travel to James F. Byrnes (Duncan, SC) to encounter the Rebels in a non-league test on Saturday, September 20. The Rebels go into the test with a record of 0-4.
The Crusaders now own a 1-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Spring Valley for a non-league test on Saturday, September 20. Northside Christian Academy will encounter a Vikings squad coming off a 2-0 league win over Lugoff-Elgin (Lugoff, SC). The Vikings record now stands at 7-0.
