In Thursday's league challenge, the visiting Humboldt Cubs volleyball team scored a 2-0 victory over the Fredonia Yellowjackets.

The Cubs (10-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Marmaton Valley (Moran, KS). The Wildcats enter the non-league challenge with a 3-9 record. In their last challenge, Marmaton Valley was beaten by Oswego (Oswego, KS), 2-1, in a league challenge.

Next, the Yellowjackets meet the Girard Trojans (Girard, KS) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, September 20. Fredonia will attempt to upgrade on its 4-9 season record. The Trojans go into the test with a 10-2 record after their 2-0 non-league win over St. Mary's-Colgan (Pittsburg, KS).
