Georgia High School Softball - Toombs County holds off Brantley County
September 19, 2023: Lyons, GA 30436 Spectators at Tuesday's league match between the Toombs County Bulldogs (Lyons, GA) and the visiting Brantley County Herons (Nahunta, GA), witnessed Toombs County's softball squad tip Brantley County by a count of 3-1.
The Bulldogs now sport a 10-5 record. They play next when they host Pierce County for a 2A Region 3 match on Wednesday, September 20. Toombs County will face a Bears squad coming off a 6-2 league win over Tattnall County (Reidsville, GA). The Bears record now stands at 9-7.
With the loss, Brantley County moves to 5-9 on the season. The Herons host Vidalia (Vidalia, GA) to face the Indians in a 2A Region 3 match on Thursday, September 21. The Indians go into the match with a record of 8-6. Vidalia won 8-2 in their recent league match against Appling County (Baxley, GA)
