The Cumberland Dukes (Cumberland, VA) football trounced the visiting Nelson County Governors (Lovingston, VA), 72-10 in Thursday's non-league outing.

The Dukes now sport a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Randolph-Henry for a non-league outing on Wednesday, September 25. Cumberland will clash with a Statesmen squad coming off a 35-0 non-league win over Prince Edward County (Farmville, VA). The Statesmen record now stands at 1-1.

With the defeat, Nelson County drops to 0-3 on the campaign. The Governors host Chatham (Chatham, VA) to clash with the Cavaliers in a non-league outing on Thursday, September 26. The Cavaliers come into the outing with a record of 1-2. Chatham lost 21-14 in their recent non-league outing against Patrick County (Stuart, VA)
