In Friday's league game, the Anderson County Mavericks (Clinton, TN) football team beat the host Carter Green Hornets (Strawberry Plains, TN), by a final score of 58-28.

With the win, Anderson County advances its record to 3-1 on the season. The Mavericks travel to Chattanooga Prep (Chattanooga, TN) to encounter the Sentinels in a non-league bout on Friday, September 26. The Sentinels go into the bout with a record of 2-3. Chattanooga Prep won 18-6 in their recent non-league bout against Marion County (Jasper, TN)

The Green Hornets now own a 3-2 record. They play next when they travel to Heritage for a 4A Region 2 contest on Friday, September 26. Carter will battle a Mountaineers squad coming off a 30-12 league win over Fulton (Knoxville, TN). The Mountaineers record now stands at 3-1.
