The Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders football team (Raleigh, NC), was tipped 20-16 in Friday's non-league bout with the visiting Mallard Creek Mavericks (Charlotte, NC)

With the win, Mallard Creek advances its record to 4-1 on the season. The Mavericks host West Charlotte (Charlotte, NC) to confront the Lions in a Meck Power Six 7A/8A match on Friday, September 26. The Lions enter the match with a record of 3-2. West Charlotte won 55-0 in their recent non-league match against West Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC)

Coming up next, the Crusaders confront the Ambassador Christian School Lions (Huntersville, NC) in a non-league battle, on Friday, October 3. Cardinal Gibbons will attempt to advance on its 4-1 season record.
