In Friday's league match, the host Mackay Miners football squad scored a decisive 53-0 victory over the Sho-Ban Chiefs.

The Miners (3-0) will now prepare for their match against Challis (Challis, ID). The Vikings enter the 1A Rocky Mountain (8 Man) match with a 1-4 record. In their last battle, Challis was ripped by Idaho City (Idaho City, ID), 44-38, in a non-league battle.
