Mississippi High School Football - Wayne Academy can't hold off Simpson Academy
September 19, 2025: Waynesboro, MS 39367 Simpson Academy Cougars (Mendenhall, MS) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team tip the host Wayne Academy Jaguars (Waynesboro, MS), 41-35 in a non-league battle.
With the win, Simpson Academy improves its record to 2-2 on the season. The Cougars travel to Lamar (Meridian, MS) to meet the Raiders in a non-league test on Friday, September 26. The Raiders come into the test with a record of 4-1. Lamar won 34-6 in their recent league test against East Rankin Academy (Pelahatchie, MS)
With the loss, Wayne Academy moves to 1-3 on the season. The Jaguars travel to Christian Home Educators Fellowship (Baton Rouge, LA) to play the Patriots in a non-league challenge on Friday, September 26. The Patriots go into the challenge with a record of 0-5. Christian Home Educators Fellowship lost 40-8 in their recent non-league challenge against Central Hinds Academy (Raymond, MS)
