Kentucky High School Football - South Laurel beat Wayne County
September 19, 2025: Monticello, KY 42633 The South Laurel Cardinals football squad scored 38 points and limited the host Wayne County Cardinals to 13 in the Cardinals non-league triumph on Friday.
The Cardinals now sport a 5-0 record. They take the field next when they host Harlan County for a non-league test on Friday, September 26. South Laurel will meet a Black Bears squad coming off a 36-13 non-league win over McCreary Central (Stearns, KY). The Black Bears record now stands at 4-1.
The Cardinals (2-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Eastern (Louisville, KY). The Eagles enter the non-league challenge with a 0-5 record. In their last challenge, Eastern fell by Atherton (Louisville, KY), 28-0, in a non-league challenge.
