The crowd at Friday's non-league bout between the Elkhorn South Storm (Omaha, NE) and the host Bellevue West Thunderbirds (Bellevue, NE), saw Elkhorn South's softball squad nip Bellevue West by a score of 8-3.

With the triumph, Elkhorn South improves its record to 16-7 on the campaign. The Storm travel to Omaha Westside (Omaha, NE) to battle the Warriors in a A District match on Monday, September 22. The Warriors go into the match with a record of 13-4. Omaha Westside won 7-5 in their recent non-league game against Lincoln East (Lincoln, NE)

The Thunderbirds now hold a 4-15 record. They play next when they travel to Bellevue East for a A District game on Monday, September 22. Bellevue West will play a Chieftains squad coming off a 3-2 non-league win over Gretna (Gretna, NE). The Chieftains record now stands at 15-8.
