The crowd at Tuesday's non-league bout between the Menendez Falcons (St. Augustine, FL) and the host St. Joseph Flashes (St. Augustine, FL), saw Menendez's volleyball squad nip St. Joseph by a tally of 3-2.

With the win, Menendez upgrades its record to 6-4 on the year. The Falcons host Ponte Vedra (Ponte Vedra, FL) to play the Sharks in a 5A District 4 bout on Thursday, September 22. The Sharks go into the bout with a record of 12-1. Ponte Vedra won 3-0 in their recent non-league bout against Creekside (Jacksonville, FL)

The Flashes now own a 2-3 record. They play next when they travel to St. Francis Catholic for a 3A District 3 game on Thursday, September 22. St. Joseph will confront a Wolves team coming off a 3-0 league win over Oak Hall (Gainesville, FL). The Wolves record now stands at 8-5.

Menendez 3, St. Joseph 2: Tori Johnson’s triple-double was enough to push the Falcons over the upset-minded Flashes in a tight 25-7, 25-21, 18-25, 19-25, 15-12 win.

Johnson (22 assists, 18 digs, 14 points) carried Menendez. Kaysie Nicklo had 11 kills and Leisha Samuels tacked on eight for the Falcons.

Skylar Ziminske (22 digs, three aces) and Karisa Patterson (23 points, seven aces) also led Menendez.
