Ohio High School Volleyball - Columbus Grove nudged by Ottoville
September 20, 2021: Columbus Grove, OH 45830 The Columbus Grove Bulldogs volleyball team (Columbus Grove, OH), was nudged 3-2 in Monday's non-league challenge with the visiting Ottoville Big Green (Ottoville, OH)
The Big Green (10-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Miller City (Miller City, OH). The Wildcats enter the Putnam County challenge with a 10-3 record. In their last challenge, Miller City nipped Pandora-Gilboa (Pandora, OH), 3-1, in a non-league challenge.
Next, the Bulldogs encounter the Crestview Knights (Convoy, OH) in a Northwest challenge, on Tuesday, September 21. Columbus Grove will attempt to move on its 3-6 season record. The Knights enter the challenge with a 6-4 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Kalida (Kalida, OH).
Match Summary
This exciting match was competitive throughout. Each team had runs and the sets felt as though anyone could take them. Ultimately the fifth set came down to serve receive and k ill percentages. Ottoville was able to put the serving pressure on and dug out a win. Despite the loss, this was a big step forward in performance from the much shorter Grove team to compete at every level with the big hitters of Ottoville.
