September 20, 2024: Axtell, TX 76624 The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Axtell Longhorns (Axtell, TX) and the visiting Crawford Pirates (Crawford, TX), witnessed Axtell's football squad knock off Crawford by a tally of 20-7.
The Longhorns (4-0) will now prepare for their contest against Dawson (Dawson, TX). The Bulldogs enter the 2A-1 Region II District 7 contest with a 1-3 record. In their last contest, Dawson was toppled by Kerens (Kerens, TX), 35-9, in a non-league contest.
Coming up next, the Pirates battle the Holland Hornets (Holland, TX) in a non-league contest, on Friday, September 27. Crawford will attempt to better on its 0-4 season record. The Hornets enter the contest with a 3-1 record after their 44-7 non-league win over Florence (Florence, TX).
