North Carolina High School Football - Covenant Day tops Hickory Grove Christian

September 20, 2024: Matthews, NC 28105

The Covenant Day Lions football squad scored 40 points and limited the visiting Hickory Grove Christian Lions to 21 in the Lions league triumph on Friday.

The Lions now sport a 3-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Charlotte Latin for a non-league test on Friday, September 27. Covenant Day will meet a Hawks squad coming off a 19-14 non-league win over St. Pauls (St. Pauls, NC). The Hawks record now stands at 6-0.

With the defeat, Hickory Grove Christian drops to 4-1 on the campaign. The Lions host GRACE Christian (Raleigh, NC) to meet the Eagles in a non-league test on Friday, September 27. The Eagles come into the test with a record of 2-3. GRACE Christian lost 37-21 in their recent league test against Ravenscroft (Raleigh, NC)
