The Red Mountain Mountain Lions got by the visiting Downey Vikings football team by a score of 35-32 in Friday's non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Mountain Lions face the Williams Field Black Hawks (Gilbert, AZ) in a 6A East Valley challenge, on Friday, September 27. Red Mountain will attempt to improve on its 4-0 season record. The Black Hawks go into the challenge with a 3-1 record after their 30-6 non-league win over Desert Ridge (Mesa, AZ).

The Vikings (4-1) will now prepare for their challenge against La Mirada (La Mirada, CA). The Matadores go into the Gateway challenge with a 1-4 record. In their last challenge, La Mirada was edged by La Habra (La Habra, CA), 48-21, in a non-league challenge.
