September 21, 2021: Santa Fe, NM 87505 The Los Alamos Hilltoppers (Los Alamos, NM) volleyball overcame the host Capital Jaguars (Santa Fe, NM), 3-0 in Tuesday's non-league outing.
With the win, Los Alamos betters its record to 7-3 on the year. The Hilltoppers host Belen (Belen, NM) to face the Eagles in a non-league outing on Tuesday, September 28. The Eagles go into the outing with a record of 0-6. Belen lost 3-1 in their recent non-league outing against Bloomfield (Bloomfield, NM)
The Jaguars now sport a 1-6 record. They play next when they travel to Taos for a non-league outing on Saturday, October 2.
Match Summary
The Toppers rolled down to Santa Fe on a four day rest. The team did what was needed to come out with a sweep of the Jaguars. It did not look pretty but there were many highlights. Bella Aguilar led the way in the back row this evening with 2 aces and 7 points on 11 serves and only 1 serve receive error. Angelina Passalacqua managed the game well and added 4 aces and 14 points on 19 serves. Solid front row play with a standout effort from Nadia Gallegos in the Middle with 18 slams and only 4 errors and 8 blocks. The Toppers will be on neutral site for the Rio Rancho Jamboree this weekend against some quality opponents as they fine tune for District play in the coming weeks.
