Oklahoma High School Softball - Grove holds off McAlester
September 21, 2023: Grove, OK 74345 Grove Ridgerunners (Grove, OK) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting McAlester Buffaloes (McAlester, OK), 4-2 in a non-league challenge.
The Ridgerunners now own a 16-13 record. They take the field next when they host Putnam City North for a non-league challenge on Friday, September 22. Grove will face a Panthers squad coming off a 4-3 non-league loss to Yukon (Yukon, OK). The Panthers record now stands at 9-21.
With the loss, McAlester falls to 7-16 on the campaign. The Buffaloes host Poteau (Poteau, OK) to face the Pirates in a non-league challenge on Thursday, September 21. The Pirates enter the challenge with a record of 28-5. Poteau won 20-1 in their recent league challenge against Broken Bow (Broken Bow, OK)
