In Friday's non-league game, the Blue Ridge Yellow Jackets (Lakeside, AZ) football team got by the host Safford Bulldogs (Safford, AZ), by a score of 14-13.

The Yellow Jackets (5-1) will now prepare for their game against Fountain Hills (Fountain Hills, AZ). The Falcons come into the 3A East game with a 2-4 record. In their last game, Fountain Hills was tipped by Gilbert Christian (Gilbert, AZ), 46-7, in a non-league game.

The Bulldogs now sport a 2-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Morenci for a 3A South game on Friday, September 29. Safford will battle a Wildcats team coming off a 24-21 non-league loss to Blue Ridge (Lakeside, AZ). The Wildcats record now stands at 3-2.
