Virginia High School Football - George Washington topples Staunton River
September 22, 2023: Moneta, VA 24121 The George Washington Eagles (Danville, VA) football defeated the host Staunton River Golden Eagles (Moneta, VA), 28-14 in Friday's non-league bout.
In their next game, the Eagles face the Magna Vista Warriors (Ridgeway, VA) in a Piedmont bout, on Friday, September 29. George Washington will attempt to advance on its 1-3 season record. The Warriors enter the bout with a 4-0 record after their 64-13 league win over Tunstall (Dry Fork, VA).
The Golden Eagles (2-3) will now prepare for their bout against Lord Botetourt (Daleville, VA). The Cavaliers enter the Blue Ridge bout with a 4-1 record. In their last bout, Lord Botetourt defeated Olympic (Charlotte, NC), 57-21, in a non-league bout.
