September 22, 2025: Champaign, IL 61822 St. Thomas More Sabers (Champaign, IL) boosters left the game thrilled Monday as they saw their volleyball squad nudge the visiting Armstrong Trojans (Armstrong, IL), 2-1 in a non-league test.
With the win, St. Thomas More improves its record to 13-3 on the season. The Sabers travel to Illinois Valley Central (Chillicothe, IL) to face the Grey Ghosts in a Illini Prairie challenge on Tuesday, September 23. The Grey Ghosts enter the challenge with a record of 12-1. Illinois Valley Central won 2-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Tremont (Tremont, IL)
Next, the Trojans meet the Schlarman Hilltoppers (Danville, IL) in a Vermilion Valley challenge, on Tuesday, September 23. Armstrong will attempt to upgrade on its 11-4 season record.
