The Central Bearcats held off the visiting Mattawan Wildcats football team by a count of 20-17 in Friday's league outing.

With the win, Central upgrades its record to 4-1 on the season. The Bearcats travel to Portage Central (Portage, MI) to encounter the Mustangs in a Southwestern Michigan outing on Saturday, October 1. The Mustangs go into the outing with a record of 2-3. Portage Central lost 13-12 in their recent league outing against St. Joseph (St. Joseph, MI)
