The Sundown Roughnecks (Sundown, TX) football edged the visiting Farwell Steers (Farwell, TX), 9-7 in Friday's non-league bout.

In their next game, the Roughnecks face the Post Antelopes (Post, TX) in a 2A-1 Region I District 2 bout, on Friday, October 8. Sundown will attempt to advance on its 3-2 season record. The Antelopes enter the bout with a 1-4 record after their 25-19 non-league win over Slaton (Slaton, TX).

The Steers (4-1) will now prepare for their bout against Boys Ranch (Boys Ranch, TX). The Roughriders enter the 2A-1 Region I District 1 bout with a 0-4 record.
