Illinois High School Soccer - MacArthur toppled by Springfield
September 24, 2024: Decatur, IL 62522 Springfield Senators (Springfield, IL) backers exited the stadium pleased Tuesday as they witnessed their soccer team triumph over the host MacArthur Generals (Decatur, IL), 9-0 in a league test.
With the triumph, Springfield advances its record to 8-4 on the campaign. The Senators host Sacred Heart-Griffin (Springfield, IL) to clash with the Cyclones in a Central State Eight test on Tuesday, October 1. The Cyclones come into the test with a record of 11-2. Sacred Heart-Griffin won 1-0 in their recent non-league test against Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains, IL)
The Generals now have a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Arthur-Okaw Christian for a non-league test on Wednesday, September 25. MacArthur will clash with a Conquering Riders team coming off a 3-3 non-league Kankakee Trinity Academy (Kankakee, IL). The Conquering Riders record now stands at 2-4.
