September 25, 2024: Mt. Vernon, OH 43050 Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets (Mt. Vernon, OH) boosters exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they witnessed their soccer team beat the visiting Licking Heights Hornets (Pataskala, OH), 5-1 in a league test.
With the triumph, Mt. Vernon moves its record to 8-3 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets host Lancaster (Lancaster, OH) to meet the Golden Gales in a non-league test on Saturday, September 28. The Golden Gales come into the test with a record of 2-9. Lancaster lost 3-0 in their recent league test against Reynoldsburg (Reynoldsburg, OH)
The Hornets now sport a 7-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Granville for a Licking County test on Wednesday, October 2. Licking Heights will meet a Blue Aces team coming off a 2-1 non-league loss to St. Francis DeSales (Columbus, OH). The Blue Aces record now stands at 8-2.
