Pope Greyhounds (Marietta, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Forsyth Central Bulldogs (Cumming, GA), 2-1 in a league challenge.

The Greyhounds now own a 13-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Milton for a non-league challenge on Friday, September 27. Pope will battle a Eagles squad coming off a 5-4 league win over Roswell (Roswell, GA). The Eagles record now stands at 8-9.

With the loss, Forsyth Central falls to 11-10 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Riverwood (Atlanta, GA) to battle the Raiders in a 7-AAAAA challenge on Tuesday, October 1. The Raiders enter the challenge with a record of 2-12.
