Alabama High School Football - Decatur held off by Athens
September 26, 2022: Athens, AL 35612 Athens Golden Eagles (Athens, AL) fans left the game content Monday as they saw their football team nip the visiting Decatur Red Raiders (Decatur, AL), 6-0 in a non-league test.
With the triumph, Athens improves its record to 2-4 on the campaign. The Golden Eagles travel to Cullman (Cullman, AL) to battle the Bearcats in a test on Monday, September 26. The Bearcats come into the test with a record of 1-3. Cullman lost 21-7 in their recent league test against Hartselle (Hartselle, AL)
With the loss, Decatur drops to 3-2 on the campaign. The Red raiders travel to Buckhorn (New Market, AL) to battle the Bucks in a non-league test on Monday, October 3. The Bucks come into the test with a record of 1-2. Buckhorn lost 20-18 in their recent non-league test against Grissom (Huntsville, AL)
