September 26, 2024: Woonsocket, RI 02895 Woonsocket Villa Novans (Woonsocket, RI) fans went home in high spirits Thursday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the visiting East Providence Townies (East Providence, RI), 12-0 in a non-league battle.
With the win, Woonsocket improves its record to 2-1 on the season. The Villa Novans travel to Portsmouth (Portsmouth, RI) to play the Patriots in a non-league battle on Thursday, October 3. The Patriots go into the battle with a record of 1-1. Portsmouth won 32-0 in their recent non-league battle against East Providence (East Providence, RI)
The Townies now have a 0-2 record. They play next when they host Barrington for a non-league battle on Wednesday, October 2. East Providence will play a Eagles team coming off a 30-6 non-league loss to Cranston West (Cranston, RI). The Eagles record now stands at 0-3.
