Ohio High School Soccer - Alexander nudges Athens
September 26, 2024: The Plains, OH 45780 Fans at Thursday's non-league battle between the Alexander Spartans (Albany, OH) and the host Athens Bulldogs (The Plains, OH), saw Alexander's soccer squad hold off Athens by a count of 2-1.
The Spartans (6-6) will now prepare for their battle against Peebles (Peebles, OH). The Indians enter the non-league battle with a 4-4 record. In their last battle, Peebles was edged by Lynchburg-Clay (Lynchburg, OH), 10-0, in a league battle.
Next up, the Bulldogs battle the Point Pleasant Big Blacks (Point Pleasant, WV) in a Freelance battle, on Thursday, October 3. Athens will attempt to upgrade on its 7-4 season record.
