Alabama High School Football - Appalachian over Section

September 26, 2025: Section, AL 35771

Spectators at Friday's non-league bout between the Appalachian Eagles (Oneonta, AL) and the host Section Lions (Section, AL), saw Appalachian's football team prevail over Section by a final score of 48-21.

With the win, Appalachian advances its record to 6-0 on the season. The Eagles host Spring Garden (Spring Garden, AL) to encounter the Panthers in a 1A Region 8 bout on Friday, October 3. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 4-2. Spring Garden won 42-14 in their recent non-league bout against Cedar Bluff (Cedar Bluff, AL)

The Lions now own a 1-5 record. They play next when they travel to Gaston for a 2A Region 7 contest on Friday, October 3. Section will battle a Bulldogs squad coming off a 31-0 non-league loss to Whitesburg Christian Academy (Huntsville, AL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 1-4.
