The Brilliant Tigers (Brilliant, AL) football tipped the host Phillips Bears (Bear Creek, AL), 30-28 in Friday's non-league outing.

The Tigers now sport a 3-2 record. They take the field next when they host Marion County for a 1A Region 5 outing on Friday, October 3. Brilliant will clash with a Red Raiders squad coming off a 61-28 league loss to Hubbertville (Fayette, AL). The Red Raiders record now stands at 2-3.

The Bears (1-4) will now prepare for their game against Cherokee (Cherokee, AL). The Indians enter the 1A Region 7 game with a 1-5 record. In their last game, Cherokee was edged by Belgreen (Russellville, AL), 28-14, in a non-league game.
