The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Custer Wildcats (Custer, SD) and the host Lead-Deadwood Golddiggers (Lead, SD), witnessed Custer's football squad edge Lead-Deadwood by a tally of 19-18.

The Wildcats (1-4) will now prepare for their contest against Hot Springs (Hot Springs, SD). The Bison go into the Black Hills bout with a 3-3 record. In their last bout, Hot Springs nudged Rapid City Christian (Rapid City, SD), 31-20, in a league bout.

The Golddiggers now own a 0-5 record. They play next when they host Mobridge-Pollock for a non-league bout on Friday, October 3. Lead-Deadwood will encounter a Tigers team coming off a 40-6 non-league win over Belle Fourche (Belle Fourche, SD). The Tigers record now stands at 5-0.
