Mid Valley Spartans (Throop, PA) boosters were happy Friday as they witnessed their football squad topple the host West Scranton Invaders (Scranton, PA), 28-7 in a league match.

The Spartans (3-3) will now prepare for their match against Dunmore (Dunmore, PA). The Bucks enter the Lackawanna 2 match with a 3-3 record. In their last match, Dunmore was beaten by Lakeland (Jermyn, PA), 28-14, in a league match.

Coming up next, the Invaders confront the Western Wayne Wildcats (Lake Ariel, PA) in a Lackawanna 2 match, on Friday, October 3. West Scranton will attempt to upgrade on its 1-5 season record. The Wildcats enter the match with a 2-4 record after their 36-0 league loss to Honesdale (Honesdale, PA).
