Illinois High School Football - Morton thwarted by Pekin
September 26, 2025: Pekin, IL 61554 Pekin Dragons (Pekin, IL) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football squad thwart the visiting Morton Potters (Morton, IL), 21-13 in a league match.
The Dragons (2-3) will now prepare for their match against Metamora (Metamora, IL). The Redbirds come into the Mid-Illini match with a 4-1 record. In their last match, Metamora defeated Canton (Canton, IL), 61-16, in a league match.
Coming up next, the Potters meet the Limestone Rockets (Bartonville, IL) in a Mid-Illini match, on Friday, October 3. Morton will attempt to upgrade on its 3-2 season record. The Rockets come into the match with a 0-5 record after their 69-16 league loss to Washington (Washington, IL).
