Lanier Poets (Montgomery, AL) backers left the game in high spirits Wednesday as they observed their volleyball squad hold off the host Central Lions (Hayneville, AL), 3-2 in a non-league match.

Next up, the Poets battle the Booker T. Washington Golden Eagles (Tuskegee, AL) in a non-league match, on Thursday, October 5. Lanier will attempt to better on its 1-8 season record.

With the loss, Central drops to 1-3 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Calhoun (Letohatchee, AL) to battle the Tigers in a 1A Area 4 match on Tuesday, October 3. The Tigers come into the match with a record of 5-2.
