New York High School Football - Gouverneur sneaks past South Jefferson
September 27, 2024: Adams, NY 13605 The Gouverneur Wildcats football squad scored 16 points and limited the host South Jefferson Spartans to 14 in the Wildcats non-league triumph on Friday.
The Wildcats now hold a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they host St. Lawrence Central for a Section 10 test on Saturday, October 5. Gouverneur will meet a Larries squad coming off a 14-12 league loss to Franklin Academy (Malone, NY). The Larries record now stands at 0-4.
With the defeat, South Jefferson drops to 2-1 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Cortland (Cortland, NY) to meet the Purple Tigers in a Section 3 B - 2 test on Friday, October 4. The Purple Tigers come into the test with a record of 2-2. Cortland won 44-34 in their recent non-league test against Sherburne-Earlville (Sherburne, NY)
