The crowd at Friday's league contest between the South Allegheny Gladiators (McKeesport, PA) and the host Ligonier Valley Rams (Ligonier, PA), witnessed South Allegheny's football squad knock off Ligonier Valley by a tally of 49-28.

The Gladiators (5-1) will now prepare for their contest against Shady Side Academy (Pittsburgh, PA). The Bulldogs enter the WPIAL AA Allegheny contest with a 2-4 record. In their last contest, Shady Side Academy was outscored by Steel Valley (Munhall, PA), 49-0, in a league contest.

Coming up next, the Rams confront the Charleroi Cougars (Charleroi, PA) in a non-league contest, on Friday, October 4. Ligonier Valley will attempt to better on its 2-4 season record. The Cougars enter the contest with a 1-5 record after their 17-6 league win over Sto-Rox (McKees Rocks, PA).
