Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the McDonell Central Macks (Chippewa Falls, WI) and the host Lakeland Thunderbirds (Minocqua, WI), observed McDonell Central's volleyball team notch a victory over Lakeland by a score of 2-0.

With the win, McDonell Central improves its record to 26-2 on the year. The Macks host Cadott (Cadott, WI) to meet the Hornets in a Cloverbelt - West challenge on Thursday, October 2. The Hornets enter the challenge with a record of 17-6. Cadott won 3-0 in their recent league challenge against Fall Creek (Fall Creek, WI)
