The crowd at Thursday's league bout between the St. Mary's Ryken Knights (Leonardtown, MD) and the host Saint John Paul the Great Catholic Wolves (Dumfries, VA), saw St. Mary's Ryken's volleyball squad nip Saint John Paul the Great Catholic by a tally of 3-2.

With the win, St. Mary's Ryken upgrades its record to 7-4 on the year. The Knights travel to Arundel (Gambrills, MD) to play the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Monday, October 2. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 9-0.

The Wolves (2-9) will now prepare for their test against Bishop McNamara (Forestville, MD). The Mustangs enter the Washington Catholic test with a 6-1 record. In their last test, Bishop McNamara held off Our Lady of Good Counsel (Olney, MD), 3-0, in a league test.
