In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Tarpon Springs Spongers football squad scored a big 42-8 victory over the Anclote Sharks.

In their next game, the Spongers clash with the Gulf Buccaneers (New Port Richey, FL) in a non-league match, on Friday, October 6. Tarpon Springs will attempt to move on its 4-1 season record. The Buccaneers enter the match with a 3-3 record after their 44-0 league win over Citrus (Inverness, FL).
