The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Canyon Eagles (Canyon, TX) and the host Andrews Mustangs (Andrews, TX), observed Canyon's football squad defeat Andrews by a count of 35-14.

The Eagles now own a 5-1 record. They play next when they travel to Hereford for a 4A-1 Region I District 3 contest on Friday, October 13.

Coming up next, the Mustangs encounter the Lake View Chiefs (San Angelo, TX) in a 4A-1 Region I District 2 contest, on Friday, October 6. Andrews will attempt to upgrade on its 3-3 season record. The Chiefs go into the contest with a 1-5 record after their 52-0 non-league loss to Greenwood (Midland, TX).
