The Niobrara/Verdigre Cougars football team (Niobrara, NE), was ripped 54-8 in Friday's league challenge with the host Boyd County Spartans (Spencer, NE)

The Spartans (4-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Chambers/Wheeler Central (Chambers, NE). The Renegades come into the D2 District 4 (8 Man) challenge with a 2-4 record. In their last challenge, Chambers/Wheeler Central crushed St. Mary's (O'Neill, NE), 46-20, in a league contest.

Next up, the Cougars meet the Elgin/Pope John Wolfpack (Elgin, NE) in a D2 District 4 (8 Man) challenge, on Friday, October 6. Niobrara/Verdigre will attempt to better on its 3-3 season record. The Wolfpack come into the challenge with a 4-2 record after their 60-8 league loss to Ainsworth (Ainsworth, NE).
