September 29, 2023: Pine River, MN 56474 The Staples-Motley Cardinals held off the host Pine River-Backus Tigers volleyball team by a score of 3-2 in Friday's non-league test.
The Cardinals now have a 11-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Pillager for a non-league test on Tuesday, October 3. Staples-Motley will confront a Huskies team coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Blake (Minneapolis, MN). The Huskies record now stands at 9-13.
The Tigers (9-6) will now prepare for their test against Walker-Hackensack-Akeley (Walker, MN). The Wolves enter the Northwoods test with a 5-7 record. In their last test, Walker-Hackensack-Akeley was nudged by Nevis (Nevis, MN), 3-0, in a league test.
