In Monday's non-league challenge, the visiting Loyd Star Hornets volleyball squad scored a 3-1 win over the Hazlehurst Indians.

With the win, Loyd Star improves its record to 16-6 on the season. The Hornets host Wilkinson County (Woodville, MS) to face the Wildcats in a Class 2A Region 7 test on Thursday, October 2. The Wildcats go into the test with a record of 0-6.
