The crowd at Friday's non-league match between the Crete Cardinals (Crete, NE) and the host York Dukes (York, NE), saw Crete's softball squad nip York by a count of 5-3.

The Cardinals now sport a 19-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Central City for a non-league match on Friday, September 30. Crete will face a Bison squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to York (York, NE). The Bison record now stands at 17-5.

With the loss, York falls to 23-4 on the campaign. The Dukes host Crete (Crete, NE) to face the Cardinals in a B District 4 match on Monday, October 3. The Cardinals enter the match with a record of 19-6. Crete won 6-2 in their recent non-league match against Central City (Central City, NE)
