Maryland High School Football - Atholton victorious over Hammond
September 30, 2021: Columbia, MD 21044 In Thursday's league match, the host Atholton Raiders football squad scored a good 30-15 victory over the Hammond Golden Bears.
In their next game, the Raiders clash with the River Hill Hawks (Clarksville, MD) in a Howard County match, on Friday, October 8. Atholton will attempt to move on its 4-1 season record. The Hawks enter the match with a 4-1 record after their 28-0 league win over Reservoir (Fulton, MD).
The Golden Bears (1-4) will now prepare for their match against Reservoir (Fulton, MD). The 'Gators enter the Howard County match with a 0-4 record. In their last match, Reservoir was toppled by River Hill (Clarksville, MD), 28-0, in a league match.

Harrison Feldman led the Raiders on a 47 yard drive and scored the Raiders first touchdown on a two yard run midway through the first quarter. Korede Sogbesan had two tackles for loss and a 6 yard sack to propel the Raiders defense.

The Raiders scored on a 5 yard run by Kevin Smitson and a 37 yard field goal by Ben Gershuny to take a 17-7 lead at halftime.
