The Loyd Star Hornets football team (Brookhaven, MS), was beaten 51-39 in Friday's league challenge with the host East Marion Eagles (Columbia, MS)

The Eagles (2-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Amite County (Liberty, MS). The Trojans come into the 2A Region 7 challenge with a 0-4 record. In their last challenge, Amite County was beaten by Franklin County (Meadville, MS), 34-23, in a non-league challenge.

The Hornets now sport a 4-2 record. They take the field next when they host Bogue Chitto for a 2A Region 7 challenge on Friday, October 7. Loyd Star will meet a Bobcats team coming off a 56-28 league win over West Lincoln (Brookhaven, MS). The Bobcats record now stands at 5-1.
