In Friday's non-league game, the Ruston Bearcats (Ruston, LA) football team tipped the visiting Neville Tigers (Monroe, LA), by a final score of 27-21.

The Bearcats (4-1) will now prepare for their game against Alexandria (Alexandria, LA). The Trojans come into the 5A District 2 game with a 3-2 record. In their last game, Alexandria got by Green Oaks (Shreveport, LA), 66-8, in a non-league game.

The Tigers now hold a 3-2 record. They take the field next when they host Peabody for a 4A District 2 game on Friday, October 7. Neville will battle a Warhorses team coming off a 40-34 non-league loss to Northside (Lafayette, LA). The Warhorses record now stands at 4-2.
